Epubor Ultimate provides all the features present in Epubor plus a convenient DRM removal functionality. It can convert DRM-protected electronic books between formats, including EPUB, MOBI, PDF, AZW, and HTMLZ. The various output profiles offered are neatly organized into device-based categories, making it easier for all types of users to convert their e-books into the format that truly fits the e-reader of their choice.
The conversion process itself is simple and intuitive, just like the program’s interface. You can create conversion lists simply by dragging and dropping any combination of EPUB, MOBI, HTML, or PDF files into the program’s main window. The program will briefly analyze the book and will decrypt any DRM-protected document prior to conversion. Books protected with Adobe DRM needs to be checked with Adobe Digital Edition beforehand loading them into the conversion list – if the book does not open using ADE, Epubor Ultimate will not be able to decrypt it.
The program’s batch conversion capabilities will allow you to convert as many files as needed into the selected output format in one single operation. Note that you are allowed to select one output format only per conversion process, so you will need to perform as many conversions as output formats required. Choosing the right type of e-book you need to convert your documents into is probably the most rewarding task of all – instead of confusing novice users with complicated acronyms, all possible output formats have been classified by the different devices that support them. Thus, instead of EPUB, MOBI, or AZW, you will find profiles for Amazon Devices (Kindle), Nook Devices, Sony eReader, Kobo Devices, and for software e-readers that install on PCs or tablets.
Conversion takes but a few seconds per book, and the results are more than acceptable. Whenever possible, the original layout (including images and all interactive elements, such as hyperlinks) will be faithfully replicated in the output file. The text in text-based PDFs will be cleverly reflowed when needed (especially for XML- or HTML-based formats, such as EPUB). Finally, EPUB books containing various HTML files can be converted into single HTML documents by selecting HTMLZ (a ZIP-like archive) as the output format.
